Through his speeches and weekend seminars, the late, great speaker Jim Rohn, America’s most often quoted business philosopher (add me to the list) , gave generations of leaders great advice by imparting his decades of in-the-trenches experience.

In my business, I have a passion for direct response marketing. As a hobby, I have a passion for exercise, health, and fitness. As in any other field, there are trends, fads, and shiny objects that distract us from doing what we need to do to get measurable results. Most of us have a book at home that says There’s nothing new under the sun. True. Successful sales and marketing have always involved a systematic process of repeated, tested, and accountable steps to reach desired results. Have goals been met and profits achieved? ​Is our waist smaller and are we stronger?

In this digital age in which virtually everyone carries a smartphone, the process of how selling and marketing is done has not changed fundamentally. It has only added another dimension of media. When used properly, these tools make our life more productive and efficient by removing manual tasks—just like the car replaced the horse and buggy. In the not so long-ago days when tough love talk was tolerated, sales managers would tell their trainees looking for quick and easy ways to avoid prospecting:  “K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid)… now, go out and talk to somebody who’s ready, willing, and able to buy what you have to sell.”

​Clarity is critical. We can all use reminding that effective prospecting and follow up (i.e. marketing) are a fundamental process to achieving your specific objectives…selling more of your product or services more profitably. Both need to be done repeatedly if you wish to fulfill your goals of income, lifestyle and control in your business.
 
We work from the client’s strengths so that work is enjoyable and fulfilling.  As a coach and implementer, one of the most appreciated objectives I provide my clients is the ability to focus on getting profitable results and ensure you do not become an advertising or high-tech victim.
